THE U15/16 SCHOLARSHIP BOYS HAD A BIG SURPRISE ON SATURDAY 7TH MAY AT BISHAM ABBEY, AS GUEST COACH JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK COACHED THE BOYS.
JIMMY IS TAKING HIS A LICENCE COACHING BADGE AT THE BEGINNING OF JUNE AND WILL CONTINUE TO COACH THE BOYS THROUGHOUT MAY.

FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP TRIALS AT BISHAM ABBEY 2013

FAB Academy Scholarship provides a 2 year full time course to the 'late developer who can demonstrate significant talent. This fantastic 2 year course is offered to Year 11 school leavers that can prove that they have substantial raw talent or whose skills suggest they could have the potential to play professionally. Fab Academy provides the opportunity for players to develop in a professional environment on a full time intensive football course. There is accommodation for any student that needs to be residential, The course has 3 key areas of focus
Practical - The Football The course is structured by 6-8 practical football sessions per week with the emphasis of these sessions being on technical, tactical, physical ability and conditioning, as well as psychological elements of the game.
Education- The education element of this scholarship ensures that the players do not miss out on further educational studies. The players will study 2 days per week to fulfil their educational requirements.
The course offered is BTEC Level 3 Extended National Diploma in Sport (this is equivalent to 3 A levels), The educational course is delivered by Charters School 'Ascot' who received a Grade 1 'outstanding' in their most recent Ofsted report and has an excellent reputation in developing and delivering education to an extremely high standard.
We also offer English Language courses to our overseas players that join the Academy.
Coach Education During the 2 year course the players will develop their core knowledge and understanding of the game whilst also improving their tactical awareness. All scholars participate throughout the course in the FA Level 1 and FA Level 2 coaching awards. These awards are recognised internationally by UEFA & FIFA. The qualifications will improve the individual's game knowledge and coaching experience, and add significant weight to their curriculum vitae.

(Ofsted 2009) secondary school and 6th form boasts annual results
competing with the top 10 in the country. Charters give us their full

pupils complete this coursework-based syllabus over two years, and
leave FAB Academy with a qualification worth the equivalent of 3
A-levels. Pupils experience the more vocational side of the sports and
leisure industry with a variety of different units assessed, and is
delivered in innovative, interactive ways to make the course both
enjoyable and very effective for pupil learning.

We also run a tutoring programme for International
students based
upon their current level of English. This can run in conjunction with
the BTEC course, or independently if the current level of English is
